Although many wannabe traders/investors are scared off by the perceived risks associated with options trading, let me state emphatically that the methods we use are designed to absolutely limit the downside risk to the amount paid for the option (buying puts & calls). Risking money, such as the use of buying on margin are never recommended nor do we ever use these types of accounts in our trading. Any technique that lends itself to open-ended losses and has the ability to not only wipe out an entire trading account but also has the possibility of unlimited liability is tantamount to gambling and has no place in intelligent investing.

Our own strategy is geared towards locating longer term plays or trends that lend themselves to windfall profits with very limited (and clearly defined) amount of risk capital.

The most important part of becoming a winning option trader pertains to the use of proper money management. When dealing with any unknown outcome (mathematical uncertainty), money management is the one tool that will make the difference between a winning or a losing trade. Good money management is more vital to your success than any technical indicator, trade strategy or trade selection.

To begin, I will walk you through each of these tools to give you a more thorough grasp of how they are used.
